REFRACTORY BRICKS FOR COATING CHIMNEYS AND BARBECUES OF FIREWOOD OR CARBON
One of the most important pieces of a home to achieve a warm, intimate and cozy atmosphere is its fireplace, or a barbecue for a garden or terrace.
For this reason the coating of the chimneys or barbecues have to fulfill two missions: on one hand it has to be temperature resistant, REFRACTORY, and on the other it has to play a DECORATIVE function, both in rustic and modern environments.
These two missions are fulfilled by the alumina refractory material traditionally produced in the areas of Catalonia and Aragon, whose base is the refractory clays that are extracted in the area of Alcañiz.
These clays when baked at a temperature of about 1300 ° develop a typical yellow-orange color, both in the bricks mode made by the old wet pressing process, which provides a rustic bricks style, suitable for certain decorations, or the modern process for pressing in Dry that gives pieces an adjusted measure, suitable for the fast construction in series.
Such materials can withstand the maximum temperatures of use achieved with coal or wood as fuel, without suffering breakage by heating or abrupt quenching.
