MANAGES TO MINIMIZE THE IMPACT OF VANADIUM OXIDE IN THEIR REFRACTORIES.
Brick and tile manufacturers by means of tunnel kiln, building whose main consumption of fuel is PETROLEUM COKE are affected by the deterioration of the kiln cars and oven firing area.
Has developed a large research about the origin of the causes of the occured damage; these causes can be concluded basically as follows:
1- Deposition of Vanadium Pentoxide (V2O5) over the wagons’ surface. 2- Penetration of Sulfuric Anhydride (SO3) into refractory pores.
Both elements are generated by the combustión of PETROLEUM COKE at temperatures between 800 ºC and 1100 ºC, which are common in structural ceramics kilns.
Following we expose in detail a table that shows in which grade the refractory is affected by a chemical alteration:
SO3 and V2O5 ATTACK
knows perfectly that this damage means also having production problems and unavoidable economic losses:
To minimize at maximum these negative consequences, we have advanced in our research, and, after a study and development period (through our R&D Department) we state that:
The refractories which are based on ZIRCONIUM are not affected so much by V2O5 and SO3
SOLUTION: Produces inert paints to V2O5 and SO3 attacks in order to give protection to the pores of the refractories that ceramists normally use.
Manufactures his own tyoe of protective paintings called PYROZIR with excellents results against V2O5 and SO3 attacks
