The technical team, along with the Simulation Department at TEIDE REFRACTORY SOLUTIONS, has committed to the use of finite element software to improve the extrusion process for refractory parts.

To characterise the behaviour of the refractory paste, TEIDE REFRACTORY SOLUTIONS has developed a pilot facility that enables work in the 10-50 kg/cm2 range. As such, swift, controlled tests can be performed for different formulations and their applicability can be checked immediately.

The results obtained from the pilot facility and the experience of TEIDE REFRACTORY SOLUTIONS were subsequently used in the numerical model to simulate the moulds’ behaviour before commencing production.
