TEIDE REFRACTORY SOLUTIONS S.L. IMPROVES THE MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF THE EXTRUDED PIECES OF THE WAGONS.
Following of the research started as regards of our publication last 2012 (TEIDE REFRACTORY SOLUTIONS, S.L. does special impact, 6th of July 2012), we have been continue improving the quality of our new products doing more trials with different designs.
After several series of trials that have allowed us to be sure of the strong relation existing between bending strength and impact energy, we have summited a same quality to different geometries:
Geometry A Geometry R Geometry F
This type of testing exposes materials to dynamics events forcing them to absorb the energy very quickly and it gives us an idea of its behavior under real conditions. The present study has been carried out the impact from a height of 12 cm and a weight of 40 kgs. (In all cases the weight has been dropped freely).
Results:
10 samples of each geometry have been analyzed. The results are shown in the following table:
The trial reports us that geometry affects its impact resistance as expected. It is demonstrated that in case A Alveolar geometry, its helical shape distributes better the tensions due to the impact which it is not done in case R Rectangular geometry, where tension is concentrated in the corners. The last case, geometry F is the worst in this test.
The following link shows a descriptive video of the trial, for better understanding of it.
